Since my mom is here, we decided to have  traddional Japanese NYE food.

Osechi Ryori

Traditionally, women cooked enough food for 3 days before new year’s eve, so women can rest from cooking for the first 3 days of the year.  But now, you can buy pretty much all the Osechi from a store, or  you can even order boxes of them from a Japanese stores such as Nijiya.  We cooked a few dishes and bought some also.

After dinner, our friends and their dogs came over for the count down.
