FAQ

Q:What do I expect from 1 hour photo shoot?
A:For children or dogs, first 10-15 min is a ‘getting to know’ time, so they can get comfortable with the environment. With some wardrobe changes, the actual shooting time can be 15-30 min.

Q:What is the process?
A:After a photo shoot, I will do basic editing and upload them to our website. This can take anywhere from a few days to a week. Then you can go through and pick your favorites and send me the file names of them. Then, I will edit more if necessary and burn them on a CD/DVD and mail it to you. This process will take a few days to a week for portraits. For weddings, each process takes 2-3 weeks depending on the number of images.

Q:Should I bring anything?
A:Yes! Please bring your children/dog’s favorite toys, blankets or anything that’s part of your children’s life right at the moment. These are great things to have in the photos, so when you look at the photos years after, it can remind you what your children liked at that time. It is a great memory enhancer.

Q:What do I need to do before getting my dog’s photo taken?
A:Well, tired puppy is a good puppy! It is always a good idea to get some exercise before a photo shoot.

Q:Where is your studio?
A:Our studio is just south of downtown San Mateo, but since we just moved here, we are fixing it up and it will be ready by the end of March 2012. Street parking is never a problem here.

Q:I prefer outdoor shoot…
A:No problem! We can shoot in our back yard, or a park of your choice. For dogs, I highly recommend your yard or ours since other dogs at a park can be very distracting.

Q:I need an image for holiday cards. How much in advance do I need to take pictures.
A:Never too early! It takes anywhere from 1 week+ on my end, then time to print cards(10 days to 2 weeks), shipping time to you(1 week+), then shipping time from you to destination(a few days?). So I would say 6 weeks at least, so when you order prints, you don’t have to pay extra for rush processing. Most printing companies charge you extra for rush printing and shipping time. So if you plan 8-6 weeks ahead, you should have enough time.
